Andy Klos is taking on more responsibility.
Previously Andy was store manager of the
O'Fallon store, and now he is adding to his
responsibilities as general manager of not
only the O'Fallon store but the Troy and
Godfrey stores as well.
He has been with
Market Basket for
11 years, starting
in the Edwardsville
meat department.
After graduating
from Southern
Illinois University,
Edwardsville, in 2002 with a degree in
business management and marketing,
Andy left Market Basket to join a management
training program with another grocery
chain, but he missed Market Basket's
culture and customers. So Jason Stevens
hired Andy and taught him the landscape/
garden business. When the O'Fallon garden
and landscape store opened, Andy jumped
at the opportunity to run it.
With a great team at each location, Andy
says it comes down to providing customers
with excellent service and a knowledgeable
staff to help. Andy makes sure he
has the right product at the right time for
his customers. He says, "We differ from
big box stores because we offer personal
service, knowledgeable staff and excellent
product choices for our customers."
He does whatever it takes to get the job
done. "I'm a problem solver," he says.
"Give me a good challenge, and I'll figure
out how to keep my staff motivated and
customers happy."
