Cameron Hastings, Meat Department manager, has been with Market Basket for eight years. After a year of training, Cameron became the store’s butcher. He says he continues to learn every day. As manager, his responsibilities include organizing the department, cutting and packaging meat as well as inspecting it to ensure everything is healthy, clean and safe for his customers.

Cameron says that his customers choose steak as their favorite meat. He buys a high grade with excellent quality and taste that’s still affordable. He is also very proud of our chicken, which is natural and not pumped with steroids and hormones. The fresh fish is wholesome, and there’s always a large selection. Cameron reminds us that it’s comfort food season and has some ideas that will fill all those hollow spaces, soothe your soul and warm your spirit.

Cameron was born in Highland, Ill., and now lives in Edwardsville with his wife Jenny.
